FAQ

1 / Can I bring my plus one? Kids?

Plus ones and kids are welcome to the wedding and reception! Please include them in your RSVP so that we may have an accurate headcount.

The Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya is very kid friendly. However, there is also an adults only side of the resort.

2 / Is there a shuttle service to the wedding venue?

A shuttle service will be provided to the wedding venue from the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. Details to come.

If you are staying off site, please include that information in your RSVP so that we can help you coordinate your arrival to the venue.

3 / What airport should I fly into?

Cancun International Airport is the nearest and recommended airport to fly into. If traveling internationally, plan to arrive in the am or early afternoon as customs may take 1-2 hours and the transportation will take an additional 1-2 hours (shorter for private shuttle or rental car).

4 / How do I get to the hotel?

Be sure to arrange your transportation to the hotel in advance of your arrival. The hotel booking site will have an option to book the group or private shuttle. This is your best option for arrival.

If you choose to take a taxi, only book an official taxi from the kiosk inside the airport. We do not advise you take a taxi at curbside outside the airport. Ubers are typically not available or advised from the airport.

5 / Do not drink the TAP WATER!

The tap water is not safe to drink. The hotel provides unlimited bottled water. Ensure you have plenty of bottle water available for your hydration and toiletry needs.

6 / Can we take pictures during the weddings?

Do not be that person! We ask that everyone keep their phones away during the ceremony. Feel free to take photos immediately following and anytime afterwards.

7 / Where are you registered?

Links to registry will be added here.

8 / When should we RSVP by?

Here are some deadlines to keep in mind:

  • Book your hotel by December 6th if you want to utilize the room block and preferential rates at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. After this date, you may not receive the included airport transfer for 2.

  • Final hotel booking and payment deadline is December 27th. After this date we cannot guarantee the rates or room availability.

  • Final RSVP deadline is January 3

9 / I have a food allergy.

Please include any allergies in your RSVP.

10 / Oh no! I have a cold. What do I do?

While we are so excited to share this day with you, the wedding will include many elderly and immunocompromised folks. Please stay home if you are sick. We will share all the photos and ensure you still feel included.

You can also consider purchasing inexpensive travel insurance that include sick/COVID-19 coverage. Reach out if you need a suggestion.

11 / Which events are outdoors? What is the weather like?

Spring in Playa del Carmen is sunny and beautiful. You can expect temperatures in the high 70s to mid 80s during the day and for the start of the ceremony. Prepare for some humidity, bring your bathing suit and sunscreen. The ceremony and reception will be on the beach, so dress chic yet comfortably.

12 / What's on the menu?

We will be served a plated dinner of specialities of the region. Full menu TBA.

13 / We're staying longer than the weekend - what should we do?

Please reach out! We have loads of suggestions for enjoying your carribbean vacay.

14 / We prefer to stay offsite - where do you recommend?

Please reach out to either of us and we will share some nearby recommendations. The easiest location for transportation will be downtown Playa del Carmen. Playacar and Akumal are nearby private beach communities that have lots of air bnbs available. Please do your research for how long it will take to get to the venue.

15 / I don't have a plus one - who can I room with?

We have several friends who are not bringing a plus one. If you would like to be introduced to someone who you can room with, please reach out and we can help you coordinate.
